Description
2025 Srixon Z-STAR Golf Balls – Overview
The 2025 Srixon Z-STAR is designed for players who prioritize soft feel, control, and spin over sheer distance. It’s the softest ball in the Z-STAR lineup and is engineered to provide excellent performance from tee to green, with a focus on finesse around the short game.
Key Technologies
FastLayer DG Core 2.0
This advanced core design transitions from a soft center to a firmer outer edge. It delivers a responsive feel while enhancing energy transfer for controlled driver distance and consistent spin with irons and wedges.
Thin Urethane Cover with Biomass Material
The cover is crafted with a plant-based material blend that reduces carbon emissions while maintaining the soft, durable characteristics needed for premium short-game performance.
Spin Skin+ Coating
A specialized coating that increases surface friction, enhancing spin and control on approach shots and chips. It also helps the ball resist discoloration and wear over time.
338 Speed Dimple Pattern
A dimple design optimized for low drag and high lift, helping the ball fly consistently and penetrate through the wind for a stable trajectory.
Performance Highlights
| Category | Performance |
|---|---|
| Feel | Very soft, with a smooth, responsive sensation off every club |
| Compression | Mid-to-low (approx. 88), ideal for moderate swing speeds |
| Driver Performance | Lower driver spin, moderate distance, excellent control |
| Iron and Wedge Spin | High spin with great stopping power on short shots |
| Durability | Improved cover durability and resistance to dirt and scuffs |
| Wind Stability | Reliable ball flight, especially in breezy conditions |
On-Course Feedback
The Z-STAR performs best for golfers looking for a soft-feeling tour ball that delivers control and consistency throughout the bag. While it may not produce the longest drives compared to firmer models, it excels in approach shots, chip shots, and putting—where touch and spin are critical.

-
Golfers with moderate to high skill levels seeking tour-level performance
